LaBamba SE (Ritchie) has a powerhouse pedigree that is unique to Alberta if not Canada. The obvious dressage talent from not only his sire, who has international success in the Grand Prix ring as well as his dam's sire who was also very talented in the FEI levels, is accompanied by a strong jumping line coming through from Cour de la Breyere. Ritchie has a lovely personality and sweet disposition. He's very clever, quick and willing to learn and, of course, he's just amazing to watch move.
At his inspection with the Rheinland Pfal-Szaar International in September of 2011, he was very well recieved. Comments included "upright carriage, good swing and length of stride, pretty head, clean lines and well balanced young stallion". He is fully registered with the German verband.
In 2012, as a two-year-old colt, Ritchie will continue with his training with life as a young stallion and begin learning tricks. He will be branded in the fall, as customs decided the irons were "not safe" to cross the border for the 2011 inspection. Being fully registered, he is to have a full brand as well. We may consider breeding him to his first mare, depending on where his maturity level is at the time. As he stands right now, he hs growing beautiful thick bone, large flat joints, a nicely developing topline and his gaits just keep making my smile get bigger and bigger!
Obviously our goal is for this amazing young man is the grand prix dressage ring; however, we also want him to be a willing partner no matter the ring. He will likely spend some time over fences as he matures and will learn that riding is just an extension of many other things he will be asked to do - lay down, sit, spanish walk, wave, etc, etc.
